Misc Mechanics

Here you can view some info on basic server mechanics that aren't large enough for their own dedicated page.

Mining Restrictions

Due to the realistic ore distribution in the Earth map and its scale, Earth is very densely packed with ores (including ancient debris!). Distribution being even higher in certain areas. To avoid inflation, draining of ores, and suffocating players, we have introduced a restriction mechanic.

You cannot mine underground in unclaimed land, but above ground there are no restrictions.

Above ground

Here, you are able to build whatever you want! We want to encourage infrastructure such as railroads, canals and landmarks in order to make the Earth map more interesting and realistic. IMPORTANT: if you have not claimed the land you are building on, your build will be susceptible to griefing, stealing etc. so please be wary of this.

Below ground

If you are mining in unclaimed land, you will be restricted to only mining above y-45. However, if you claim the land, you can mine as far down as you want! This encourages strategic placement of land claims/outposts and could even result in some dynamic conflict, made easy with our war mechanic.

Resource, Nether, End

These worlds will reset every month so therefore there will not be restrictions on where you can mine. Our reasoning for the Earth world restrictions is based around the sheer density of ores, but the Resource World, Nether and End will be kept fully vanilla and true to original Minecraft.

Chest Protection

United Lands uses Towny as it's primary means of land protection, but we also use LWC to claim more specific items such as chests and doors. These offer a extra layer of privacy when protecting yourself within your town. Locked blocks can only be accessed by the lock owner and specified parties. To lock a block simply run the command /cprivate and hit the block you'd like to protect, you can add someone to this lock with /cmodify [username]. To unlock a block you own do /cmodify public and punch it. To toggle automatic block-locking on or off do /cnolock.

Dynamic Beacons

Beacon effect range is tied dynamically to the value of their pyramid blocks. Rarer blocks create larger effect radiuses (and they effect pets!).

For example, a full iron pyramid will have a total range of 33.3, whereas diamond would be 133.3. You can mix and match different tiers and the range will be calculated accordingly - this can be viewed with /bbrgetrange while looking at it.

Add a block of tinted glass above the beacon to hide the beam but still get receive the bonuses.

Silk Spawners

With this upgrade you are now able to break owned spawners that you receive from voting and events. It is purchasable from the /upgrade menu for 500,000G.

The only spawners that should work are as follows:

  • Passive: Pig, cow, chicken, sheep.

  • Hostile: Zombie, skeleton, spider.

While you may be able to find and pick up other spawners accross the map, only the above will be able to work upon being placed.

Commands:

  • /spawnerlocation - List all placed spawners and their coordinates.

  • /spawnertrust - Managed your trusted list for spawner management. Trusted players can break your owned spawners.

Player Warps

Looking to create the next economic hub or hangout spot? The player warp upgrade allows players to create publicly accessible warps through the /pwarp or /warp menus. Each player can have up to 3 warps for 3 separate locations. If you're looking for a specific type of warp, you can filter by shops, towns, farms, social, and other types. You can set a price players need to pay to teleport to your warp (up to 1,000G) but 25% of this price is taken as a tax.

The /pwarp menu is ordered by average ratings, so make sure to have a quality warp if you want people to visit!

Commands:

  • /pwarp - Open the player warp menu.

  • /pwarp rate [Warp Name] [1-5] - Rate a warp (1 is worst, 5 is best).

  • /pwarp favourite [Warp Name] - Favourite a warp.

  • /pwarp [Warp Name] - Teleport to a specific player warp.

  • /pwarp set [Warp Name] - Create a warp with the specified name.

  • /pwarp cost set [Warp Name] [Amount] - Set a cost for players travelling to your warp (up to 1000G).

  • /pwarp category set/remove/list [Warp Name] [Category] - Assign, remove, or filter warps by category.

  • /pwarp cost remove [Warp Name] - Remove the cost associated with your warp.

  • /pwarp rename [Old Warp Name] [New Warp Name] - Rename a warp.

  • /pwarp remove [Warp Name] - Delete a warp with that name.

  • /pwarp desc set [Warp Name] [Description] - Set a description for your warp.

  • /pwarp desc remove [Warp Name] - Remove a warp's description.

  • /pwarp icon set [Warp Name] - Set the specified warp's icon for the menu.

  • /pwarp icon remove [Warp Name] - Remove a specified warp's icon.
