PvP

PvP on United Lands is slightly different, and this page highlights everything major!

Crystal PvP

On United Lands, Crystals have been majorly nerfed to hardly deal damage to players (~10% of their original power). They still deal knockback and a small amount of damage, but not enough to where it can become a pvp asset.

This was a hard decision to make, but seeing as to how Crystal pvp can be incredibly overpowered, it had to be made. We didn't want some people controlling the meta and abusing it to conquer the server and automatically win over any wars that may happen.

Combat Timers

As custom on most servers, to punish players logging out mid-combat, we've installed a simple combat log timer. If you disconnect while the timer is showing at the top of your screen, you will instantly die (as if you were killed). The timer is typically 30 seconds long, however it resets back to 30 seconds every time a new hit is landed by either side.

Not only that, but these timers introduce some restrictions to make pvp a bit more fun. All of which are below!

Elytra Restrictions

While a timer is running, you're unable to activate your Elytra to escape the battle. A victor must emerge, or you must distract your opponent until the timer runs out.

However, if you have an elytra already active, and you get in combat (through shooting in the air, for example), your Elytra will not deactivate. If you touch the ground you will not be able to use it again until the timer runs out.

Graves

Players do not drop loot when killed, so do not expect instant rewards from killing players.

When a player is killed, they drop a locked grave which can only be opened by the victim. These graves typically unlock after 30 minutes, and are open for anyone to use and claim. However, this does not mean that you can prevent players from reaching their graves until they get unlocked.

Preventing a player from accessing their graves is against the rules and doing so will lead to a punishment. You're not obliged to help them get back to it, but actively preventing them from using it is not allowed. For example, you cannot surround it in obsidian, camp near it to where you kill them again next time they approach (while defenseless, usually), surround it with lava, etc. This is not allowed as it significantly breeds toxicity, something we don't want on the server.

Masterwork Gear

Masterwork Gear is a special gear set designed to be stronger than Netherite in all ways. However, there is a slight exception to it to make PVP with it balanced.

In order to avoid battles going on for long periods of time, and making it almost impossible to land a kill if totems and golden apples are present, we've added a slight tweak to it. Using a Masterwork Sword against full Masterwork Armor deals roughly the same damage as it would with Netherite vs Netherite.

Each piece the enemy is wearing contributes a % to how much damage the sword should deal. There are no buffs if any other type of sword is used.

This also applies to Masterwork Axes, if you prefer them for fights.

Player Hostility

To discourage killing players without any punishment, we've implemented a hostility system, which is explained in depth on this page here!
