Hostility

Hostility is a global measure of how aggressive a player is.

Introduction

Hostility is, as the name implies, the measure of hostile or aggressive a player is. Each player has a hostility index, which has 3 main stages, ranging from 1-21 hostility points. You can gain points by killing players, and the amount of points you gain depend on the situation. This is not only a measure of how dangerous or maybe untrustworthy a player is, but it also makes their towns vulnerable to war.

Your hostility points degrade every 24 real hours, at 12:00UTC (which can be checked with /towny time) by 1 point by default, but if you have more than 14 points or have manually disabled degradation, this will not happen.

Having ☠ Hostile players in your town prevents it from going neutral!

Commands

There are a few commands which help with the hostility system, here are detailed instructions on each command!

  • /pvp on - This command is only usable once by new players. By default, you are given a 24 hour immunity period, you can force disable this immunity by running this command, but after that there is no going back.

  • /pvp degrade [on/off] - This command is used to control the degradability of your hostility points. Its for those who want to rack up their hostility without worrying about it degrading on overtime. This has no effect if you've reached the 'Hostile' status.

  • /pvp status [username] - This command displays the current hostility status, the amount of points, and whether it is degrading, if available it'll also display if a player has new user immunity. Specify a username to see someone else's.
