Ending a War
What happens when a war ends.
Surrendering
You do not have to see a war to its end if you know you will lose, give up with the /surrender
command. The following will happen in the event of a surrender, in addition to any pre-agreed terms.
Riots allow for anyone to surrender. Civil wars only allow a mayor to surrender their town. World wars only allows a leader to surrender their nation.
If during a riot the mayor surrenders, the town will be given to the rebel with the highest score.
If during a civil war the nation leader surrenders, the new capital will be the highest scoring town.
If the nation leader surrenders during an independence war, all rebelling towns are freed.
Would-be surrenderers of a town, nation, or world war must make an offer. They can ask for a white peace, give money, or any pre-agreed on terms. This deal can be rejected.
End Conditions
If the enemy does not surrender, each war can be ended in the following ways:
Riots
All of the surviving rioters are in Jail.
All of the players on either side run out of lives
The mayor surrenders, or either side's remaining players surrender.
Time runs out.
Town knock-out conditions:
A town has its home block fall to zero health.
A towns' residents collectively lose all their lives.
A town cannot pay the death costs because their town bank has no money.
A town makes a surrender offer which is accepted.
Time runs out.
Nation knock-out conditions:
A nation's capital city is knocked out of the war.
A nation's towns are all removed from the war.
A nation makes a surrender offer which is accepted.
Time runs out.
Alliance wars:
All the nations on either side are removed from the war.
Time runs out.
Civil or independence wars:
The capital city is removed from the war.
All the towns on either side are removed from the war.
The nation leader surrenders, or either side's remaining towns surrender.
Time runs out.
World Wars:
There is only one left, or all of the remaining nations consider each other allies.
Spoils of War
When a war is declared, a shared war chest is created. Here, all money that is moved during a war is transferred until it ends.
This chest can be contributed to by all participating towns in the war, but only the winning side will have it's contents. It can be increased in three ways: The initial war fund (variable), killing players (1,000G per kill), and sieging town blocks (250G per chunk).
It will continue to grow in size as the war rages on, but the money is inaccessible until it's over. Therefore, it is important that all towns are financially prepared for any war they may engage in, as even though they are capable of winning - they must ensure there is sufficient funds to endure the whole thing. The winner of the war will gain back all the money they lost as well as the loser's side.
